Development of Geographic Response Strategies and Strategic Plan for BC Coastal Community during COVID-19

Nuka Research supported the Cowichan Tribes with early strategic planning as part of a Co-development of Community Response capacity effort underway in British Columbia. During the height of COVID lockdown, in early 2021, Nuka Research led virtual sessions with Cowichan Tribes staff and leadership to identify areas of concern in their territory, develop geographic response strategies to protect these areas in the event of an oil spill, and develop a strategic plan and roadmap for capacity development to build and maintain new capabilities for oil spill planning and response.
