Testing Inland Geographic Response Plans – Moose and Merrimack Rivers (New Hampshire)

Nuka Research developed GRPs for Inland rivers on the Moose, Androscoggin, and Merrimack Rivers with US EPA and local stakeholders in the Summer of 2017. In the Summer of 2018, Nuka Research had the opportunity to test the effectiveness of these GRPs with local first responders and the state agencies that helped develop the plans. Nuka Research spent two days in the field and deployed an oil surrogate to test booming strategies laid out in the GRP. After it was determined that the strategies were successful, then the GRPs were finalized.

The local news was present during one of the exercises and published information about the success of the exercise: https://www.concordmonitor.com/oil-boom-drill-nh-pollution-EPA-19474339
