As a Project Manager, Rachel applies nearly a decade of experience with vessel oil spill prevention and response, maritime operations, and marine safety to Nuka Research’s client projects. Growing up on Cape Cod helped instill a love of the water and coastal resources for Rachel from an early age. This love for the ocean led her to pursue an undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where she graduated with a B.S. in Marine Safety & Environmental Protection. After graduation she decided to expand her horizons and spent several years in Texas working in the marine tugboat industry as a Health, Safety, and Environmental professional. There she gained extensive hands-on experience in vessel safety, environmental permitting and reporting, and regulatory compliance. While in Texas she obtained her M.S in Marine Resource Management from Texas A&M University, focusing her studies on coastal margins.
When she is not working, Rachel can usually be found helping out at her family’s Christmas gift shop or relaxing on a Cape Cod beach with a book and her dog, Daisy.
