Sam Butler joined the Nuka Research Plymouth office as a Project Manager in 2022. Since then, Sam has planned and facilitated dozens of MassDEP and EPA Geographic Response Strategy training exercises, written a community COVID-19 After-Action Report, and developed County Extreme Heat and Cold Temperature Response Plans. Before Nuka Research, Sam worked with the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH) as a Senior Consultant on the State’s vaccination support team and as an Emergency Planner for the Bristol County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalition (BCPHEPC) in Massachusetts. Sam graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) in 2020 with a Master of Science degree in Emergency Management. Sam also spent several years teaching and coaching high school students and has experience as a caterer, restaurant server, and bartender. Sam grew up in Barnstable, MA. In his free time, he enjoys watching Boston Celtics games, golfing, kayaking, and spending time at the beach with friends and family.
